Winter Chill in Srinagar, Shimla and Manali to upshot Capital Delhi

This winter season has been quite deceptive this year with only a couple of rainy and snowy spells observed over both Jammu and Kashmir  as well as Himachal Pradesh in December but January saw fortunate change with rain and snow lashing many parts of the hills.

25 mm of rainfall was witnessed over Jammu with Dharamsala in last 24-48 hours. Manali witnessed 20 mm of rainfall along with Shimla and Srinagar where 10 mm and 8 mm rain was recorded, respectively. Rain along with snow was witnessed by higher reaches of Uttarakhand. In fact more rain and snow is expected over these areas.

Considering its effects on the capital Delhi, Cold wave conditions are expected till January 13. January 15 may see light rain and thereafter moderate to dense fog in isolated pockets is expected. The minimum temperatures are expected to remain in the range of 3°C and 10°C while the maximum temperatures will be between 18°C to 20°C.
