Twenty Five Courageous Children Bag National Bravery Award

Twenty Five Courageous Children from different parts of the country with 12 girls and 13 boys, between the ages of 8 and 18 have been awarded by National Bravery Award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Republic Day in New Delhi.

18 years old Tejasweeta Pradhan and 17 years old Shivani Gond from West Bengal have been conferred by the Geeta Chopra Award.

15 years old Sumit Mamgain from Uttarakhand, who saved his cousin's life by fighting from Leopard, has been awarded by the Sanjay Chopra Award.

8 years old Tarah Peju from Arunachal Pradesh who lost her life to save two of her friends from drowning has been awarded by the Bharat Award.

Tushar Verma from Chattisgarh, Rolunah Puii and Lalhriat Puii from Mizoram has been nominated by the Bapu Gaidhani Award.

ICCW president Gita Siddharta said " These awards were initiated to give due recognition to the children who distinguish themselves by performing outstanding deeds of Bravery and to inspire other children to emulate their example."
