Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled son Akhilesh Yadav: Boon or Bane for Samajwadi Party?

Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, chief of Samajwadi Party gave a shock to the country by expelling  his son Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav from the party. Accusing the senior party leader, Mr. Ram Gopal Yadav of " spoiling the career of Chief Minister", he has expelled him too from the party.

Announcing his son's expulsion, he said that it is he who made him the Chief Minister and now he does not even consult him. Mr. Singh has not  yet announced who shall take the place of Mr. Akhilesh now. It is something to give a shock to the country and even the party because this is the peak time when UP Elections can be announced at any time.

Mr. Akhilesh has called for a party meeting on January 1 through uncle Ram Gopal. According to sources, about 80% of the party's 224 lawmakers are in support of Akhilesh Yadav.

Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav announced a list of candidates for UP elections according to which several key sides or Akhilesh Yadav were excluded. Shivpal Yadav who replace Akhilesh as the party's UP Chief has got a favour as his recommended candidates were included by Mr. Mulayam Singh.  Those who had some criminal records were fiercely opposed by the Chief Minister.

Mulayam Singh has called for a meeting tomorrow for all the candidates named by him to emphasise the fact they are party's official nominees and he stands as an unchallengeable authority. The number of candidates who shall attend the meeting tomorrow are likely to give a ratio of people in support of Mr. Mulayam Singh.
