The launch of the book "Beyond The Dreamgirl", by former editor of Stardust and producer Ram Kamal Mukherjee, also marks the celebration of Hema Malini's glorious run of 50 years in Indian showbiz.

"While we were planning the book launch on her birthday, we realized that Hemaji will be completing 50 years in this industry in 2018. So we decided to make it special for her, and took this Herculean task to get 50 celebrities to wish her on her biography, birthday and golden jubilee year," Mukherjee said.

"It will be a very big surprise for Hemaji, because we have recorded bytes from people whom she would probably not expect," he added.

The video campaign was spearheaded by Aritra Das from Assorted Motion Pictures. He roped in five media students -- - Christopher Noel D'Souza, Riona Mariette Gomes, Iqra Laique, Vadin Gear and Savio Gerhert -- from Don Bosco Mumbai, to work on this project.

The video will be played at the launch of the book, which is published by Harper Collins India, and comprises her journey since childhood to her recent political sojourn as a BJP MP of Mathura.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has penned the foreword for the book, while the afterword is by Ramesh Sippy, who directed her in the iconic role of Basanti in "Sholay".

Songstress Lata Mangeshkar has said: "Hema is like my younger sister. I have always admired her for her grace and beauty. Recently, she shared her music album with me. I was surprised to hear her voice. She is so melodious. Wishing her long and healthy life."

Actress Vidya Balan said: "Hemaji you have set really high benchmark for all of us. 50 years in this industry is not an easy number to achieve."

Arjun said: "You have been our inspiration. I have fond memories of you as a kid, as we grew up with Esha and Ahana."

Having started her film career in 1968 with Raj Kapoor-starrer "Sapno Ka Saudagar", Hema regaled movie buffs with roles in films like "Seeta Aur Geeta", "Sholay", "Dream Girl" and "Satte Pe Satta". An accomplished classical dancer, Hema Malini earned the epithet of 'Dreamgirl' for her flawless beauty, and became a pioneering female superstar in an otherwise male-oriented film industry.

"Haseena Parkar" director Apoorva Lakhia on Tuesday cleared the air about the film's release being postponed and said the film is releasing on September 22.

Originally the film was supposed to release on July 14 but it was pushed to August 18 to avoid the clutter at the box office.

Then according to a statement issued on behalf of the producers the film's release date was finalized as September 22.

When media asked about the film's release being postponed again, Lakhia said, "People can write what they want as long as we are coming in the news. We are coming to theaters on the 22nd of September and we never said anything otherwise. We are really looking forward to it and today we start the promotions for the film."

He was present at the Twitter office for the song launch of the film.

Asked why the makers chose to release a romantic song first from the film, Apoorva said, "From the trailer it seems like a very violent and action oriented film but that is not the case, Haseena was married to her elder brother's best friend Ibrahim who not only ran a restaurant but in his free time used to work as a stunt man in Bollywood.

"They were madly in love and she was married at a very young age. She had a beautiful marriage and she lost her husband at a young age. This song is by Sachin and Jigar and we thought this would be an ideal song to show the world a softer side of Haseena Parkar because when she was young she was very romantic but her circumstances were what got her where she reached."

Shraddha Kapoor plays the title role along with her brother Siddhanth Kapoor as Dawood Ibrahim and Ankur Bhatia as Haseena's husband. The film marks the time in Haseena's life from 17 to 40 years old.

Shraddha, the lead actor in the film, said that she does not want to generalize their (Shraddha and Siddhanth Kapoor) characters as villains. She said, "I would not generalize our characters because that will be putting a judgment and a point of view, so we are completely portraying this as a character and it's entirely up to the audience to decide. We are showing a wide perspective so that people can judge based on the film."

The song "Tere Bina" is the first song released from the film. Composed by Sachin-Jigar and written by Priya Saraiya, "Tere Bina" is a duet sung by Arijit Singh and Priya Saraiya.

This film will also mark Shraddha Kapoor's first female protagonist film. She was last seen in "Half Girlfriend" with Arjun Kapoor.

After films like No Entry, Welcome, Singh is Kinng, filmmaker Aneez Bazmee is back with another entertainer Mubarakan. The film managed to catch the fancy of movie buffs ever since it was announced and for that, there are more reasons than one.

Mubarakan brings together real-life uncle and nephew, Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, as chacha-bhatijaon-screen for the first time. The film also marks Arjun's second stint with double roles after Aurangzeb. It also boasts of an ensemble cast including the likes of Ratna Shah Pathak and Athiya Shetty, Ileana D'Cruz from the young lot.

One of the most underrated comedies is welcomed by Anees Bazmee of the recent times. However, over the years, it has become one of the most watched films on TV.

In fact, its situational comedy is a lesson in comic timing and how to carry off a slapstick humour. Mubarak a funny movie which revolves around an eligible bachelor who falls in love with a gangster’s sister, and how he creates confusion to have his way. Since then, Bazmee has directed Singh Is Kinng, No Problem, Thank You, Ready and Welcome Back. All these films had the theme of marriage at the centre.

With a double-role angle, Mubarakan follows a similar trajectory. Separated in childhood, twins, Karan and Charan (both played by Arjun Kapoor) are expected to marry as per their guardians’ wishes, but they are already in love with Sweety (Ileana D’Cruz) and Nafisa (Neha Sharma).

Things get complicated when Charan gets engaged to a another girl, Binkal (Athiya Shetty) in London. The shy guy couldn’t gather the courage to tell his parents about his love life and that leads to a big-intra family feud that ends when Charan’s uncle swears to marry him off in exactly one month.

Bazmee’s latest Mubarakan follows a similar trajectory, with a double-role angle. Separated in childhood, twins, Karan and Charan (both played by Arjun Kapoor) are expected to marry as per their guardians’ wishes, but they are already in love with Sweety (Ileana D’Cruz) and Nafisa (Neha Sharma).

When charan forcely get engaged to the another girl the things then starts getting complicated, and he another girl is Binkal (Athiya Shetty) in London. The shy guy couldn’t gather the courage to tell his parents about his love life and that leads to a big-intra family feud that ends when Charan’s uncle swears to marry him off in exactly one month.

However, Kartar Singh (Anil Kapoor) is yet to arrive and add more confusion to the already-messed up affair.

Mubarakan is a typical Bazmee film which starts with loud background music and solid bass. In a slow motion the hero walks in  and dances to peppy tunes, but shows a docile attitude in front of the heroine. Arjun Kapoor takes a cue from Akshay Kumar in Welcome and jumps into this mad-caper wholeheartedly. In the movie Mubarak all the limelight is stealen by the ever gold and young Anil Kapoor and he is a pro in it.

His character drives a vehicle that has slogans like ‘Buri nazar wale tera muh gora’ and ‘You are chasing a Punjabi’ written all over it. He then employs an English man who mouths dialogues like ‘Baadshaho tussi lassi pio’ and ‘Meri pagar padhao.’

Anil Kapoor, however, tries his best to hold the family and the story together. As someone who unknowingly keeps creating chaos, he has been rightly given a good screen time. The only actor who outperforms in a couple of scenes is Pavan Malhotra. As an always angry hotelier who hates to be seen down upon, he is hilarious.

Mubarakan is designed as a family film where comedy is generated through quarrelling relatives. This works initially but goes out of control later.

But that doesn’t mean you won’t be entertained. Probably won’t be leaving the theatre with a big smile on your face. You’ll be occasionally laughing.
