Shakib Al Hasan double century stunned New Zealand

Bangladesh middle order batsman Shakib Al Hasan scored a brilliant double century ( 217 ) against New Zealand in the first test on Friday at Wellington.

Meanwhile, wicket - keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim also scored a ton ( 159 ), Shakib got out 15 minutes before stumps of day - 2. He also became the highest individual scorer by a Bangladesh cricketer.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim had put together 359 runs record partnership for the fifth wicket. This has also become highest fifth wicket stand against New Zealand, Shakib also achieved the milestone of 3,000 runs in test cricket.

On the first day Shakib was dropped on four by Mitchell Santner and he was also dropped by Ross Taylor on 189.
