Sahir Ludhianvi’s Lyrics, Arijit’s and Shreya’s Voice: A Musical Maestro In Begum Jaan

Sahir Ludhianvi, who was popularly known as Sahir whose real name was Abdul Hayee is one of the most famous Indian poet and film lyricist who used to write in Hindi and Urdu is back with his work in the movie Begum Jaan which is directed by award winning director Srijit Mukherji.

Name of the song is “Wo Subah” which is the remake of old song which penned down by Sahir sahab and voice was given by Mukesh Da and Asha ji in the movie ‘Phir Subha Hogi’. But in this newer version it has the voice of most versatile male singer which Bollywood industry is currently having i.e. Arijit Singh and female voice is given by Shreya Ghoshal. The lyrics says, “That morning will come only by us, after all the dark ages, when the clouds of sadness will melt, when ocean of happiness will come, when sky will flow, when the sky will do a rain dance, when earth will sing songs, that morning will come only by us.”

Isn’t it again giving you the feeling of 80’s and 90’s when each and every word of songs was beautiful and gives a beautiful meaning? Where rappers are not destroying the essence of music, it was much beautiful when it was just simple and sober without high bass only what you can feel is its ethos.
