"Congress Stole 6 BSP MLAs, Looking To Teach Gehlot A Lesson," Says Mayawati
New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has hit out another attack on Congress and has said that the Gehlot-led party in Rajasthan has "stole" 6 of her MLAs through illegal means. Mayawati also said that she will take the matter to Top Court.
The BSP chief in an attack n Rajasthan CM accused him of stealing 6 MLAs from the BSP last year to strengthen the position of his government.
Mayawati on Tuesday said that “We will not stay silent and take up this matter to the Supreme Court. We were waiting for the proper opportunity to teach Gehlot a lesson".
In September last year, Six MLAs from BSP were inducted into the Congress. The lawmakers had handed over affidavit ti state Assembly Speaker C P Joshi to merge the legislative party with the Congress.
"BSP could have gone to the court earlier too but we were looking for a time to teach the Congress party and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot a lesson. Now we have decided to go to court. We will not let this matter alone. We will go even to the Supreme Court," Mayawati said today.
BSP leader Mayawati had tweeted her first statement on the Rajasthan standoff 9 days ago, pouring out her anger on Mr. Gehlot for stealing her lawmakers, tapping phones of rivals and demanding that the government impose central rule on Rajasthan.
Also, Mayawati's party yesterday said that the BSP would move to the high court against the speaker's order but indicated that it hadn't made up its mind if it should file an application to become a party in the ongoing disqualification case or file a fresh petition.
