Why PM Banned Mobile Phones In His Meetings: PM Narendra Modi Shares

I see district officials so much busy with their mobiles. So I banned mobiles in meetings," Narendra Modi said, mimicking furious tapping on a phone keypad as PM addressed Bureaucrats at a Civil Service Day Function.

Narendra Modi further added, "People have moved from e-governance to mobile governance, it is a reality today."

In 2014 PM Modi came in power with a huge Mandate, he stressed on an efficient workforce and made sweeping changes in his own office. Narendra Modi said, while spelling out the need to clean the mind set and style of working. "There is a burden of hierarchy culture" that had been going on since the British rule. "If seniors/superiors feel that new entrants are doing good work and it is intimidating them, this is the pressure of hierarchy culture," Narendra Modi said.

The Experience to be used by the officials also, PM Narendra Modi advised, "There is no way that there could be better suggestions and recommendations than yours."

Narendra Modi favoured Bureaucrats to ‘Think out of the box’ and to bring the change collectively. Narendra Modi said, "I have the political will to bring reforms, but you are the people who perform by formulating schemes and policies."
