NEW DELHI: A chartered private jet is all set to fly to Mumbai from Delhi in mid-June with six pet passengers, to unite them with their family owners.
According to Mumbai Mirror, a Mumbai based 25 year old entrepreneur and cyber security researcher Deepika Singh, has hired this jet to help some of these pet animals. The cost of each pet seat is 1.6 lakh, and the price can even go higher if the seats aren’t booked soon. The jet has so far been booked by pet parents of two Shih Tzus, one Golden Retriever and one Lady Pheasant bird. At least two more pet passengers are required for the charted plain to be usable.
"The cost per seat stands at Rs. 1.6 lakh which is already a little steep and if we do not find six passengers it will be even costlier," Deepika shared with mirror.
She even shared that when she was arranging a jet to fly relatives from Delhi, some of them refused to travel with pets. That’s when the idea came to her mind that even the pets deserve to see and meet their family.
She further said "Some people wanted to travel with their pets but when the others refused, I decided to arrange for another jet".
The charted jet is available for pets like cats, dogs, birds and many other animals. Ms Singh contacted a private jet aggregator Accretion Aviation for a six seater aircraft for pets. As the cost of each seat is 1.6 lakh, the entire plain costs Rs 9.06.
"I contacted a private company and they agreed to send the pets on a plain," said Ms Singh. Till now, only four passengers have booked the seats, and if soon the two left won’t be booked, then there are chances that seat price will be raised.
Rahul Muchhal, the owner of Accretion Aviation shared that there will be proper precautions and safety measures for pets and their handlers for this global pandemic COVID-19.
The pets will be medically examined before boarding the flight and will be made to travel in cages. If not by the charted jet, then these pets would have been transported through cargo ships.
