Man From Lucknow Saves A Puppy Trapped In A Drain
The man built a drone to rescue the puppy which had been trapped in a drain for over 2 days.
New Delhi: Milind Raj from Lucknow was out for a walk one morning when he came across a drain where he found a puppy whimpering and trapped inside. Raj, who has a deep interest in artificial intelligence, decided to help the puppy and wondered how he could do that.
Mr. Raj builds robots for a living. After happening upon the puppy, he immediately went to his lab in Lucknow. He came up with an AI-controlled device which he attached to a drone. He had invented the drone and the AI all by his singular effort.
The AI-controlled robotic arm was fastened to the drone Raj told NDTV, "The drain was so filthy, it was like a bog. It was not possible for a human to rescue the puppy without endangering their own life, so I decided to put technology to the task. I decided to use the AI-controlled robotic arm because it has a smart heartbeat sensor. Attached to the drone, I knew it would be risky but may work."
Milind Raj smartly used the technique. He went back to the drain and controlled the drone with a remote. He could only hope for the best for the improvised device to work properly.
"The AI helped me monitor the animal's heart rate. If the grip was too tight, the pup would suffocate," said Mr. Raj. He admitted that it was indeed a challenging task since he had to make sure that the grip of the robotic arm didn't suffocate the animal.
The puppy was safely rescued and once landing on the ground again, it coughed up some drain water that it likely had consumed. "It vomited plastic including paan masala packets that people had c arelessly tossed into the drain," said Mr. Raj.
Later, Milind Raj broke the news that he had adopted the puppy and named it "Lifted".
At the Uttar Pradesh Investors' Summit in February, Mr. Raj invented a humanoid robot which was one of the major attractions there. The robot had garnered attention for its trilingual quality. It could speak fleuntly in Hindi, English and Sanskrit. The robot had greeted a number guests including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
