Last Night Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis put in some serious as Devendra Fadnavis travelled to 5 different parts of the city to check the progress on Mumbai’s metro vital plan. Devendra Fadnavis who is 46 years old travelled in midnight till about 3:30 in the morning by road and from the heart of the financial capital to suburbs that will be linked by the metro, wearing a hard hat.
To prevent inconveniencing to the commuters the inspection was planned in after-hours.
Local trains are famous in Mumbai, but the Mumbai's ever-growing population means the trains are stretched way beyond capacity. Metro launched in the year 2016, and nearly 40,000 crores is expected to cost and it will run underground in Mumbai and on elevated tracks in the suburbs. About 75 Kms will be covered by the Metro by 2019 as to accommodate an estimated 9 lakh commuters, as per the government.
The Chief Minister told to the reporters that, "We have adopted the precast technology where most of the parts are built elsewhere, and then set up here. This is helping us construct at a fast pace and this is perhaps the fastest metro construction in the country."
On the street Aditya Thackeray was there last evening, Aditya Thackeray who heads the youth wing of the Shiv Sena, which co-governs Maharashtra with Chief Minister Fadnavis. The Sena also runs the Mumbai Corporation and is in charge of maintaining the city's roads which regularly dissolve into potholes every monsoon.
For road repair Mr. Thackeray, 26, conducted a midnight inspection. Mr. Thackeray told to the reporters, "We want to ensure that we deliver on good roads for the city and that's what we are working towards."
