Leicester City Ease Into Champions League Quarter-Finals

Barclays Premier League defending champions Leicester City wrote another chapter in their exceptional story as they overturned a first-leg deficit to crush Sevilla and reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on a night of raw passion at the King Power Stadium.

The Craig Shakespeare side (Leicester) looked in trouble after a 2-1 first-leg loss in Spain that was the catalyst for the sacking of former manager Claudio Ranieri-the coach who had guided them into this competition after clinching the Premier League nine months ago.

Now, with the former Juventus manager (Ranieri) and Craig Shakespeare in charge, the host have been transformed, and they were on their way to another amazing triumph when skipper Wes Morgan bundled them into a first-half head.

It put the Foxes in control of the tie, a supermacy they emphasised when midfielder Marc Albrighton drilled home a second nine minutes after the half-time, seconds after Sevilla left-back Sergio Escudero hit the bar for the visitors.

The win means the Leicester City join tje illustrious company of Real Madrid , Bayern Munich , Borussia Dortmund , Barcelona and Juventus in Friday's quarter-final draw.
