Few days back gossip aired in the town that Salman Khan has backed out of the project. Salman Khan had no idea that his close friend Ajay Devgan is also planning to do a film on same project titled ‘Son Of Sardar: The Battle Of Saragrahi’. Both the films are based on Havildar Ishar Singh of 36th Sikhs (now 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment). Havildar Ishar Singh alone with 21 soldiers fought against the 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in the late 19th century. The ‘Golmal’ star had announced this project earlier and indicated that this would be his next big production after Shivaay.
And now actor Diljit Dosanjh has denied the reports of being teamed up with Akshay Kumar in Salman Khan and Karan Johar production. Last month there were reports that Diljit Dosanjh is joining Akshay Kumar in the movie based on battle of Saragarhi.
The film will be directed by Punjabi film director Anurag Singh. "Those are wrong reports. I am not doing anything in it. It's a big film and a big subject. I am not in the film but there is excitement for Anurag. He is an amazing person and I am very happy for him," Diljit told when asked about the film with Akshay and Salman.
Actor Diljit Dosanjh and director Anurag Singh have collaborated on four Punjabi successful films- 'Jatt and Juliet', 'Jatt and Juliet 2', 'Disco Singh' and 'Punjab 1984'. Diljit will be seen next in “Philluri” produced by Anushka Sharma.
Since there is not any official confirmation about the film, there is still suspense about the multi starrer project. Only three names comes with surety, Karan Johar who will co-produce, Anurag singh the director and Akshay kumar to play the lead role.
