Rohit Sharma side Mumbai Indians (MI) crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by five wickets with one ball to spare in an Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Monday. After restricting the visitors to 162/8, the home side set up a decent target to chase. However, Bangalore had other plans.
They first got rid of opener Parthiv Patel in the first delivery for a duck and then followed up with quick wickets of explosive batsman Jos Buttler and talented Nitish Rana. But it was skipper Rohit Sharma's unbeaten 56 that guided Mumbai to a victory. Not only did he hit his 31st IPL fifty, he also hit a four off the second last ball to keep the winning momentum for Mumbai Indians and help the team go top of the points table.
