New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the nation. The PMO'S office took to Twitter to announce that PM will be addressing the nation at 4 PM on Tuesday.
PM Modi today during his 17 minutes televised address to the nation said that no individual is above law, including the leader if the country, also he warned people against disobeying rules in force to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus.
"We notice (increasing) negligence in people's social and personal behavior. We used to meticulously wash hands, used sanitizers, wore masks, maintained social distancing, and avoided shaking hands... we see this is not happening as strictly anymore. That is a sign of worry," Prime Minister Modi said.
"This is a serious matter. We must maintain discipline. People not following the rules need to be stopped and made aware. Nobody is above the rule in India, even if it is the leader of the nation," PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister's address, comes in the middle of the stand-off at Ladakh's Galwan valley, between India and China.
The Nation has also witnessed an increase in COVID 19 cases.
"We will buy local and be vocal for local and this will help India become stronger," he had said.
Government of India, blocked 59 apps with Chinese links amid tension with the neighboring country. The apps' list included the hugely popular TikTok, Shareit, and UC Browser. The clashes between the two-nation martyred 20 Indian soldiers in action and more than 70 were injured.
Centre in a statement said apps were blocked "in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order"
In India, in 24 hours a spike of 18,522 coronavirus cases reported which took India's tally today to 5,66,840 even as the recovery rate further improved to 59.06%.
This is the second day of decline in fresh COVID cases. As per the health ministry figures on Sunday,19,906 fresh cases were reported while on Monday 19,459 cases reported.
