Madhya Pradesh: Migrants Throw Stones, Protest At Border Over Food
Madhya Pradesh: In Madhya Pradesh, today Violence erupted in the town of Sendhwa, located at the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border, after traffic jams at the national Highway 3, thousand 9f migrant workers 2ent on the warpath.
The migrants alleged that the Madhya Pradesh government has made no proper arrangements of food or transportation for them.
Many videos were also surfaced which showed hundreds of people creating chaos by screaming and running on the shoulder beside the highway. Reports from the spot said they threw stones.
The city has witnessed many such events even before Sendhwa, located in Barwani district, is a key stop for the migrant laborers from Maharashtra taking the road to go to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Thousands of migrants, every day, enter into the town, from where they take buses and trucks for the onward journey. Over a thousand workers staged a protest, even on the 3rd of May, in Barwani after the district was sealed.
They were demanding to be permitted to enter and continue the journey to their respective villages, they even blocked the Agra-Mumbai National Highway.
They even started throwing stones on the police, when asked to move away from the highway.
