New Delhi: Last night Union Home Minister Amit Shah was admitted to Delhi's AIIMS, nearly two weeks after he was discharged from the hospital. Earlier he was admitted to the national capital's hospital for post-Covid-care.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been readmitted to AIIMS here for a complete medical check-up ahead of Parliament's Monsoon Session beginning from Monday, the hospital said on Sunday.
"As per the advice given at the time of his discharge, he has now been admitted for a complete medical check-up," the All India Institute for Medical Sciences said.
The 55-year-old saffron party leaders had tested positive for coronavirus, which was affected over 46 lakh people in India so far, on August 2 when he was taken to the private hospital Vedanta in Gurgaon.
He on August 14 had tweeted that he would be in-home isolation for a few more days on the advice of his doctors.
On August 18 he was admitted to the AIIMS after he complained of the "fatigue and body ache".
After 13 days on August 31, he left the hospital after the doctors said the Home Minister had "recovered".
"Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, is admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi for post-COVID care. He has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time," the AIIMS had said in a statement on August 30. Last night, at around 11 PM, he was admitted to the hospital again.
