Delhi: Police Arrests 2 Member Of Thak Thak Gang With Jewellery Worth 1 Crore

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested two "Tak Thak Gang" operatives from the Madangir area of South Delhi and recovered diamond-studded jewelry worth Rs 1 crore snatched from the businessman.
The police on August 6, received information regarding snatching of jewellery by the "Thak Thak" gang in Rani Jhansi Road. The CCTV footage of the area around the place of incident was analyzed and informers were alerted.
On the basis of the specific information regarding the movement of two suspected persons,a trap was laid near the Central Market, Madangiri.
Two persons identified as Santosh and Sandeep were apprehended at about 8.30 PM . The diamond-studded jewelry snatched from Rani Jhansi Road was recovered from their possession.
The accused used to chase carns on the motorcycles and put oil on the bonnet and engine of the car which on heating gives out a foul smell.
"Police received information regarding the two suspects involved in the crime. A trap was laid near Central Market, Madangir and the accused were apprehended," Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Atul Kumar Thakur said.
The accused admitted to committing several thefts and robberies using the same modus operandi. They threw some oil on the bonnet of the car due to which fumes and the foul smell would come on heating, said the DCP.
