Delhi: 50 People Allowed At Weddings, 200-Limit Revised To Tackle Covid Amid Surge In Cases
Coronavirus: Delhi has scaled down the number of people allowed at the wedding from 200 to 50 amid the spike in coronavirus cases.CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday spoke about fresh measures to check the spread of the highly infectious virus, which has affected over 4.95 lakh people in the national capital so far.
"Delhi had allowed up to 200 people at weddings, in keeping with the Central government guidelines. But now we have decided to go back to the earlier limit of 50 people. I have sent a proposal to the Lieutenant Governor for approval. I hope he gives permission soon," Arvind Kejriwal had said on Tuesday.
Mr. Kejriwal said that his government had sought a go-ahead from the central government to allow it to shut for fee days markets that may emerge as coronavirus hotspot. Also, he spoke about reducing the number of people allowed at the wedding.
The Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has cleared the new curbs on the wedding-related gathering.
The national capital on Tuesday logged nearly double the number of fresh coronavirus cases as compared to the previous day
