New Delhi: Ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar, the Election Commission today said that people over the age of 65 years will be able to vote by the postal ballot amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bihar election is expected to be held in October-November.
The facility will be extended for people infected with COVID or those who are suspected of having contracted the infection.
Whereas the government and the medical experts have been continuously discouraging such as people from venturing out.
Also, the ballot facility has so far reserved only for people over the age of 80 and those people in the essential services who are not posted in their home state.
In the view of the pandemic the Rajya Sabha elections, slated for March postponed till Juuen, whereas for the Bihar election there is no word on pushing back.
