Ayurvedic Doctor, Mastermind In Over 50 Murder Cases, Says "Lost Count After 50 Murders" Arrested In Delhi
New Delhi: Crime Branch team of Delhi has arrested a serial killer who allegedly masterminded the killing of over 50 persons between 2002 and 2004, including truck and taxi driver across the capital city and the neighboring states.
From the Baprola area, the serial killer was arrested where he was living after jumping parole in January, as per the police.
Devender Sharma,62, a BAMS degree holder, hails from Purreni village in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district was apprehended six months after jumping parole in the murder case.
As per the police, Devender Sharma was convicted in several cases of kidnapping and murder. Also for running a fake gas agency in Uttar Pradesh Devender Sharma was arrested twice.
In 2014 in different states he was also jailed fr running the infamous kidney transplant racket. Also, he was accused of having done more than 125 kidney transplants.Sharma reportedly claimed to have carried out more than illegal 125 kidney transplants for which he got Rs five to seven lakh per case.
Police citing previous media reports claimed he may have been involved in more than 100 murder cases but could not confirm the exact figure as the case registered against him in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan were investigated by the state police concerned.
Earlier Sharma lived in the house of an acquaintance at Mohan Garden and later moved to Baprola where he married a widow and got into the business property, police said.
Sharma after getting his BAMs degree from Bihar's Siwan district, he started his clinic in 1984 in Jaipur. In 1992 he invested Rs 11 lakh in a gas dealership scheme but was cheated and suffered a financial crisis.
During the interrogation, the alleged serial killer is learned to have confessed to being the mastermind of more than 50 murders.
