Different parts of a woman’s dead body for the last week were found scattered across Mumbai. Yesterday a woman’s head was discovered in a forest on the Shahpur-Nashik Road in the eastern suburb of Thane, wrapped in a bed sheet and in a plastic bag.
The woman Priyanka Gurav who was 24 years old use to live with her in-laws in Worli, went missing on 5th May. The woman’s torso was found a day later in a drain in Navi Mumbai, from about 50 kms from where the woman lives.
A Lord Ganesha combined with an Om symbol tattoo on her shoulder identified the woman. Then the woman’s husband Siddhesh Gurav is been arrested by the Police, for the woman’s murder and destruction of evidence. Two others were also arrested who allegedly helped to dispose of the body parts of a woman.
The woman was a B.Com graduate, was married just five days before the woman got missing. The motive for the murder could be that her husband was pressurised to marry her, but its priority is to find the vehicle used to transport the body parts since that could yield crucial evidence including bloodstains, said by the Police.
To NDTV the police officer said that, "We arrested an accused involved in dumping the body and he took our team to the spot where the head was dumped in a plastic bag. The head was wrapped in bed sheet and plastic bags."
