After the tentative dates were revealed about the implementation of GST bill by the finance minister, Arun Jaitely, the traders association i.e Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal requested
Mr. Jaitely to delay the implementation till 1st September. Because such a reform need a suitable time frame for its implementation as 70% of the traders are still adopting to digital transactions and format in their businesses.
The GST Bill council on Saturday gave its formal approval of GST to be implemented till 1st July. But now its implementation dates are being questioned. As there are crores of traders who will be counted under GST guidelines but have no knowledge about it and its implementation in short time will make people suffer. Therefore an adequate time should be spent in imparting the knowledge to the traders and that needs time.
Indian traders are heading towards digital India but it needs time. And the fact being many traders are against implementation of GST its process need introspection.
Besides, all the CAIT Secretary urged the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to consider traders concerns so that confusions could be removed. "Given the Constitutional obligation, we think that September 1 could be taken as roll out date for GST," Mr. Praveen khandelwal added.
