Test Cricket is the longest format of the circuit of Cricket and is considered its highest definitve. Test matches are faced between national depictive teams with "Test Status" ,as dogged by the ICC (International Cricket Council).

The first formally recognised Test match began on 15 March 1877 and ended on 19 March 1877 and was played between arch-rival teams England and Australia at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground), where Aussies won by 45 runs. A Test match to honor100 years of Test Cricket was held in Melbourne from 12 to 17 March 1977, in which the Kangaroos defeat England by 45 runs-the same margin as that first Test.

In 2012 (October), The ICC recast the playing conditions for Test matches, allowing day/night Test matches.

The first day/night match took place between New Zealand and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, on 27 November 2015.
