Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Supreme Court Dismisses Plea In Case, Says, "Let Police Do Its Job"
New Delhi: The Supreme Court today dismissing an appeal for its transfer to the Central Bureau of Investigation said that the case involving the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput can be investigated by the police for now.
"Let the police do its job," said Chief Justice SA Bobde, directing petitioner Alka Priya to "Go to the Bombay High Court if you have anything concrete".
The police of two states, Bihar and Maharashtra the states where the actor was from are investigating the matter, after a huge controversy over the allegation of nepotism in Mumbai that was said to be the contributing factor to his death.
On July 25 police case was lodged against the actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and six other after a complaint from the late actor's father KK Singh. The actor's family had accused Rhea of cheating him financially and mentally harassing him. Apart from Rhea, the First Information Report (FIR) also names six others including her family members.
Sushant Singh Rajput passed away by committing suicide. He hung himself from the ceiling of his house in Mumbai on 14th of June 2020. The postmortem reports say that he was suffering from depression for the last 6 months. The media, social media, netizens, and his family claims that the reason behind is depression can be professional rivalries.
