Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Recommends CBI Probe
New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has urged the central government to order a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, said Sanjay Singh the Janata Dal(United) spokesperson on Tuesday.
Whereas the reports had emerged that the Bihar government will recommend a CBI probe into the sensational cases. The government of the state decision comes a day before the Top Court's hearing on Rhea Chakraborty's plea.
Seeking to transfer the investigation in the case registered by the Bihar Police in the matter to Mumbai Rhea has moved to the apex court. Also, Rhea has maintained that Bihar Police, which is also probing the actor's death case, no “jurisdiction to investigate the case legally”.
Bihar Water Resource Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha has told PTI that "CM Kumar will definitely act if demand for a CBI inquiry comes from the family of Rajput".
The latest development in the case comes after the Vinay Tiwari, IPS offcier from Bihar who landed in Mumbai on Sunday to probe Rajput death cases was "forcibly quarantined" by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) authorities.
On Monday the Bihar CM voiced strong objections of the "forcible" quarantine of the IPS officer from Patna. "Whatever has been done to him is inappropriate," Kumar said
Rhea and five others were booked under IPC Section 306 (Abetment of suicide), Sec 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), Sec 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), Sec 380 (Theft in dwelling house), Sec 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust), and Sec 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).
The Bombay High Court hearing petition seeking transfer of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today has been postponed due to to the heavy rain in Mumbai.
Sushant Singh Rajput passed away by committing suicide. He hung himself from the ceiling of his house in Mumbai on 14th of June 2020. The postmortem reports say that he was suffering from depression for the last 6 months. The media, social media, netizens, and his family claims that the reason behind is depression can be professional rivalries.
