Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar: The Man Who Gave Structure To The Independent India

Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar who is also popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar or BR Ambedkar was born on 14th April, 1891. He was the only one who gave the proper frame to constitution of India and was India’s first Law and Justice Minister. Today it is his 126th Birth anniversary.

Babasahab or Bhimrao Ambedkar was born at the cantonment area of Mhow in Madhya Pradesh as his father was in the British East India army. BR Ambedkar was Dalit and spent his entire life fighting against social discrimination, he was not even allowed to sit inside the class because of his caste. But he completed his schooling from Elphinstone High School and later completed his degree in economics and political science from Elphinstone College (University of Bombay). Later, he also completed his major studies from economics at Columbia University.

But why to focus on these old stuffs let us try to tell you few things you might not be knowing like his real name was not Bhimrao Ambedkar it was “Ambadvekar”, his father was “Major “Subedaar” which was one of the highest rank in the Indian army which was under the British rule. He once considered converting to Sikhism but he converted to Buddhism. In the year 1955, he proposed splitting Madhya Pradesh. Even we should be thankful to him as he was the only one who helped in reducing working hours from 12 hours to 8 hours.
