Manish Sisodia who is Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi wasn't able to hold a Facebook Live today as he was reportedly told by his government's publicity department that an open bid is needed for its promotion.
GST or Goods and Services Tax, was his concern. He wants to live a discussion on the GST and pointed to the concerns and questions of the traders. Last week he wrote to publicity department to make him Facebook live but then he wanted it today, ahead of a GST council meeting of the centre and states tomorrow to discuss the mega tax reform set to debut in July.
Jaidev Sarangi, who is the directorate's secretary replied that this would require "Global tendering", which could take at a month too. In his response, he also referred to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s social media campaign "Talk to AK", who are facing a CBI inquiry.
The department reported that it "lacked technical competence" for such a social media campaign and therefore compelled to deny the request.
A letter to the seniormost bureaucrat have been posted by Mr Sisodia and the Chief Secretary MM Kutty, complaining against Mr Sarangi and demanding his removal for "incompetence".
"If in these times for a Facebook Live an officer takes one month then that officer is clearly incompetent and should be removed," Mr Sisodia wrote.
Now he has ordered a Facebook Live on Monday.
