New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has tested positive for coronavirus, tweeted the minister on Sunday afternoon. He said that he is getting admitted to the hospital on the doctor's advice.
As per the sources he has been admitted to Medanta hospital, located in Haryana's Gurugram near Delhi.
On getting the initial symptoms of the corona, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors,” tweeted Shah.

The home minister has also requested those who had come in his contact to isolate themselves and get tested.
The extensive contact tracing will be carried out and anyone who came in contact with the minister will have to self-isolate, said the sources.
On Wednesday Mr. Shah,55 had taken part in the cabinet meeting, which was attended by all the top ministers, including defence minister Rajnath Singh, PM Modi, and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

On Sunday with an increase of 54,735 cases in the last 24 hours, India's coronavirus tally went past the 17 lakh-mark, showed the data of the Union Health Ministry.
