New Delhi: India's one-day coronavirus tally rose by about 14 percent with a jump of about 50,000 coronavirus infection taking the overall coronavirus numbers past the 80 lakh mark, shoes the Health Ministry data.
The rise in the new infection has reflected the spread of the disease in some of the states as authorities brace for the new wave in the pandemic after Diwali when the winter sets in.
The medical experts have suggested that the coronavirus would become even deadlier as the temperature drops.
The country in the last 24 hours reported 49,881 new cases of the coronavirus as the total number of infected people till now shot to 80,40,203 government data shows.
The rise reflects the positivity rate as the cases rise in some states. The lists of the states with the highest cases are led by Kerala(8790), followed by Maharashtra (6,738), Delhi (5,673), West Bengal (3,924), and Karnataka (3,146), of which the first three states logged significantly higher coronavirus infections than on Tuesday.
In Delhi, the unprecedented rise comes amid the festive season and rising pollution and has raised concerns, especially since the national coronavirus tally was showing a steady decline.There are now 1.2 lakh overall coronavirus related fatalities with 517 patients dying of the diseases in the last 24 hours
