India Reports 43,893 New Cases, 508 Deaths In 24 Hours, Total Cases Near 80 Lakh
New Delhi: In the last 24 hours a jump of 43,893 new coronavirus infection was reported taking India's coronavirus tally to close to 80 lak mark, shows the data of the Health Ministry this morning.
India has reported a total of 79,90,322 COVID cases till now.
Also, the country has reported 508 deaths in 24 hours. A total of 1.2 lakh people have lost their lives to the viral disease till now.
In India, the overall deaths related to viral diseases rose to 1.2 lakh as 508 people died in 24 hours.
About 91 percent of all people who have contracted coronavirus more than 72.5 lakh have successfully fought off the disease and some 6.1 lakh people are receiving treatment for coronavirus.
In India the coronavirus pandemic is showing a declining trend, except for a few states which have reported a rise in the cases during the festivals, said the government on Tuesday, mentioning Kerala, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi.
These five states together account for 53 percent of all new cases. Some of these states are seeing a record surge like Delhi with 4,853 cases.
Like Maharashtra and Kerala which recorded more than 20,000 and 10,000 cases respectively, at the height of local infection, logged about 5,500 new cases each.
