India Records Biggest Single-Day Jump With 97,570 New Cases, Total COVID Cases Cross 46 Lakh

New Delhi: India's coronavirus tally surged to 46,59,984  cases this morning as it recorded the biggest single-day spike of 97,570 new cases in the last 24 hours, showed the government data this morning.

Whereas more than 36 lakh patients have recovered so far, about 9.58 lakh cases are active. The country has logged the second-highest number of cases across the globe after the US, where the tally has surged to nearly 64 lakh cases.

The Health Ministry in a tweet this morning said "the gap between the percentage of recovered cases and the percentage of active cases is progressively growing wide".
