Dharavi Close To "Flattening The Curve" Reports Just One Fresh Case Of Coronavirus

New Delhi: One of the most densely populated places in Mumbai, Dharavi has reported a fresh case of coronavirus. The slum area with a population of 6.5 lakh people in the area of 2,5 kilometers. Once considered to be the biggest coronavirus spread the threat to Mumbai, Dharavi is getting close to "flattening the curve" amid the rapidly growing COVID 19 cases in Maharashtra.

Dharavi's coronavirus tally has reached 2,335 cases and had recorded a single case, three months ago.

The recovery rate of the slum area is also impressive, despite the low-income residential, narrow areas. Dharavi has just 352 active cases and the 1,734 covid cases have been recovered.

The area was under strict lockdown, due to its dense population, which seems to have worked well for the area as the cases have seen a significant reduction.

Coronavirus infected 5,134 more people in  Maharashtra, taking the total count to 2,17,121. The death toll of the state stands at 9,250, With 224 more patients dying recently.

Coronavirus cases in Mumbai had increased by 806 new cases, taking the total to 86,132. With an addition of 64, its total of deaths stood at 4,999.
