COVID-19 Outbreak: India Crosses 6 Lakh Coronavirus Cases
From Today as India entered "Unlock-2" with more relaxation in the lockdown curbs, the country in the past 24 hours has reported 18,653 new cases, taking the total number of cases to 5,85493.
New Delhi: Coronavirus has infected more than 6-lakh people in India. The total is now 50,000 less then that of Russia, which is the third worst sufferer from coronavirus. In the rank of worst affected nations, Russia, Brazil, and US, are ahead of India
India's total tallied to 5,66,840 cases in the morning. However by the evening, Maharashtra added 5,537 cases to the tally, Tamil Nadu 3,882 and Delhi 2,442.
Around 90 per cent of total infections in India are from ten states -- Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka account for around 90 per cent of total infections in India.
The National capital Delhi has reportedly witnessed a slowdown. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi has managed to contain the spread of coronavirus as the total reached 87,000-plus less than expected by experts 1 lakh figure in June. He said, that Delhi only has 26,000 cases as compared to predicted 60,000 active cases.
The centre had announced "Unlock 2", where the containment zones will remain under lockdown.
Schools, colleges metro services and international flights have not resumed. Large gatherings -- social, political or religious remain banned under "Unlock 2".
