New Delhi: In the Enforcement Directorate six officials have tested positive for coronavirus and the headquarter of the probe agency has been sealed for two days, said the sources. Over 10 officers who came into contact with the infected officials have been quarantined.
Also, a junior rack officer recently who works at the establishment branch of the headquarters had tested positive for the virus. He was on the deputation to the investigative agency from a central paramilitary force, news agency PIT quoted officials.
The Enforcement Directorate, a central agency that proves money laundering and hawala crimes, sanitizes it office building twice a week and only those employees who are requires for work on a given day report to the office.
In the last 24 hours, India reported 9,887 new coronavirus cases in the biggest one-day spike so far, government data shows. There has been a minor fall in recovery rate compared to Friday, from 48.27 percent to 48.20 percent.
The number of deaths reported in the last 24 hours is 294 taking the total death in India to 6,642.
The country has reported over 2.3 lah coronavirus cases till now, taking it above Itlay to become the nation with the sixth-highest coronavirus cases.
Also, as many as three states have reached five-digit numbers including Maharashtra as on May 1.
Apart from Maharashtra, the two states are Gujarat and national capital Delhi.
This continuous high peak surges came after the center allowed the movement of migrant workers in special trains from metro cities to their home towns.
This has led to observe an increase of 10 times in many states.
