Coronavirus India: 18,522 Cases In 24 hours, 5.66 Lakh Total Cases So Far, Over 59% Recovery Rate
New Delhi: In India, in 24 hours a spike of 18,522 coronavirus cases reported which took India's tally today to 5,66,840 even as the recovery rate further improved to 59.06%.
This is the second day of decline in fresh COVID cases. As per the health ministry figures on Sunday,19,906 fresh cases were reported while on Monday 19,459 cases reported.
As per the latest Union Health Ministry data, the death toll has climbed to 16,893 with 418 new fatalities in 24 hours. Whereas the number of active cases stands at 2,15,125 while 3,34,821 patients have recovered.
13,099 patients have cured of the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The gap between recovered patients and active cases has widened to 1.19 lakh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office took to Twitter to announce that PM will be addressing the nation at 4 PM on Tuesday. The Prime Minister's address, comes in the middle of the stand-off at Ladakh's Galwan valley, between India and China. The Nation has also seen an increase in COVID 19 cases.
While addressing his radio show 'Mann Ki Baat' PM Modi said that India gave a suited reply to China on Ladakh. Prime Minister went on to praise the army which fought Chinese troops at the Galwan Valley earlier this month.
