New Delhi: The government of Delhi will create a plasma bank to fight COVID-19 said CM Arvind Kejriwal this afternoon, asking those who have recovered from the infection to donate the plasma to help other patients.
The plasma bank will start operation in the next two days. I appeal to Covid-19 recovered patients to donate their plasma,” Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said.
As per the Aam Aadmi Party leader, a shortage of plasma for the COVID-19 therapy was seen. The government to address the shortage decided to set up a plasma bank.
The CM added that the plasma bank will be set up at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in Delhi, which is not a coronavirus dedicated hospital.
Also, Arvind Kejriwal has urged those who have recovered to come forward and donate plasma to help other patients.
In the past 24 hours the number of COVID-19 patients in India is increased by 19,459, taking the tally to 5,48,318, as per the data released by the Union Health Ministry today morning.In the last 24 hours as per the data 380 fatalities reported as the toll increased to 16,475.
The number of active cases stands at 2,10,120 while 3,21,722 people have recovered. Whereas the recovery rate stands at 58.67%.
