New Delhi: On Sunday marking a pause after 21 days consecutive days of an increase there was no hike in the price of petrol and diesel in the metro cities.Whereas the opposition party said that it would protest against the government.
In Delhi, the petrol costs Rs 80.38 a litre and diesel 80.40 per litre after companies hiked prices on Saturday as per the notification from the state-run IndianOil Corporation, the country's largest fuel retailer.
In the national capital on Saturday the price was increased by 25 paise per litre for petrol and 21 paise per litre for diesel. Whereas the price in other metro cities including Chennai, Mumbai, and Kolkata remained unchanged.
The state-run oil marketing companies Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum which accounts the majority of petrol and diesel outlets in the country on the June 7 has restarted the normal system of daily price review in line with a cost following an 82-day hiatus
