Bayern Munich Put Six Past Wolfsburg To Clinch Bundesliga Title

Carlo Ancelotti side Bayern Munich demolished Wolfsburg 6-0 to clinch the Bundesliga for a record fifth straight season and give coach Ancelotti a title in a fourth top European league.

It has been another season of domestic dominance for German Champions, who sheathed up their 27th championship with three matches to go with a thumping victory.

Bayern lost just twice in the league all season and were never anxious by out-of-sorts Wolfsburg.

From the minute Austrian left-back David Alaba fired Bayern Munich ahead from a free-kick, the destination of three points and the trophy was not in doubt.

Poland forward Robert Lewandowski netted twice before half-time to make the second 45 minutes a formality, while Dutch winger Arjen Robben added a trademark shot after cutting in from the right.

Wolfsburg skipper Luiz Gustavo was sent-off against his Ex club late on and had to be restrained by team-members after sarcastically applauding the referee, before German midfielder Thomas Muller tapped in a fifth.

There was still time for young Josh Kimmich to drill in a sixth and leave the host just a point above the relegation zone.
