New Delhi: Vidya Balan is one of the most versatile actress in Bollywood. Soon she will be seen playing the role of PM Indira Gandhi's role in her upcoming project which is based on the journalist-author Sagarika Ghose's book "Indira: The Most Powerful Prime Minister". It could be either web series or film. On Tuesday, Paa's actress said about the project that, "I am happy to have acquired the rights to Sagarika Ghose's "Indira: India's Most Powerful Prime Minister", because I have always wanted to play Indira Gandhi. I haven't decided yet whether it should be a film or a web series, but that will take a while anyway."
Sagarika Ghose called Vidya Balan an "Ace". On signing the project, she said that, "Most excited to see 'Indira' on-screen." Book "Indira: The Most Powerful Prime Minister" was published by Juggernaut Books. The book carries all the answers about persisting issues from why Indira Gandhi repealed the Emergency to her son Sanjay's curious grip over her, and from her bad marriage and love affairs to her dangerous religious politics.
According to Sagarika's tweets, 'she finds Akshay Khanna looked a bit like Feroze Gandhi'. She further said that, " considering the idea of web series will be like Netflix's House of Cards & The Crown".
Vidya's last release was 'Tumhari Sulu' was earned 36.15 crores, & her performance in movie was appreciated by audience. Book "Indira: The Most Powerful Prime Minster" was released in 2017.
