Election Commission censured Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal today for having remarked in Goa rally that voters in Goa should accept money from the BJP and the Congress but cast their ballot for the AAP. However Mr Kejriwal has called the Election Commission order wrong and also said that he will challenge it in court. Mr Kejriwal tweeted in his defence, “Lower court gave order in my favour. EC ignored court's order. Will challenge EC's latest order in court (sic)."
As per Election Commission, Mr Kejriwal's statements have violated the Model Code of Conduct which came into force in Goa on January 4. It said that the Mr Kejriwal’s statement amounts to "abetting and promoting electoral offence of bribery". Strict action will be taken if Mr Kejriwal fail to respond by the afternoon of January 19.
The Congress has also demanded the Election Commission to take actions against Delhi Chief Minister.
