Women's Day 2019: Celebrating Womanhood With The Achievers Of The Year 

New Delhi: 8th March: International Women’s Day!!!  But it is not only on 8th of March, women are not only recognized one day and ignored the rest of the days. Women should be recognized for whatever they do in their field each day, let it be in the home, in office, in fields, in any profession. Women deserve all the appreciation from all of us not only from the male counterparts.

Women’s day is the celebration of her existence and her contribution to everyone’s existence. Being Feminist is not being against her male counterpart but encouragement to her right to express her individual thoughts, opinions, her perspective and her fight against those who hinder her growth in life and create boundaries to access her rights.

Here we will talk aboutpowerful women in India who never fails to set the benchmark and made all of us proud with their achievements.

P V Sindhu, International Badminton Player
Pusarla Venkata Sindhu born on 5 July 1995 Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Sindhu chose to play badminton by inspiring from Pullela Gopichand. She started playing at the age of eight and learn basics from Mehboob Ali at the badminton courts of Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad.Her hard work and passion is the result where she stands today. Currently, P V Sindhu is world no. 3 in the BWF World Ranking. She also became the first Indian women to win a silver medal in Olympic. 

Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra born on 18 July 1982 in JamshedpurIn her early age, she started joining local beauty competition and won “May Queen” beauty pageant. After that, her mother entered her in Femina Miss India contest 2000. She successfully entered as a contestant and titled as Miss World 2000.After that, it all started and now everyone knows where she stands. She is the First Indian Actress to represent our Nation at such a big level and making all of us proud.
There are many awards in the name of Priyanka Chopra. Out of which important ones are National Award for her role in Fashion 2008. In 2006, She receives Padma Shree Award by Government of India.

Sumitra Mahajan, Lok Sabha Speaker
Sumitra Mahajan born on 12 April 1943 in Chiplun, Maharashtra. She moved to Indore where she completed her education from Indore University which now Devi Ahilya University where she had done B.A., M.A., and L.L.B.She started her political career in 1989 when she first stood for Lok Sabha Election against former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Prakash Chandra Sethi and won. In 2014, she became the second women after Meira Kumar to be elected as the Lok Sabha speaker.

Chanda Kochhar, former CEO, ICICI Bank
Chanda Kocchar born on 17 November 1961 in Jodhpur and raised in Jaipur, Rajasthan.She started her schooling at St. Angela Sophia School, Jaipur then moved to Mumbai for her graduation where she got a B.Com degree from Jai Hind College.  She was very good at studies. For great remarks in studies, she got the Wockhardt Gold Medal for Excellence in Management Studies as well as the J. N. Bose Gold Medal in Cost Accountancy. In 1986, she joined the ICICI Bank and from there she geared up and never looked back. ICICI Bank won many awards under the leadership of Chanda Kochhar.  She is the second Indian women after Sonia Gandhi to list on Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list.

Barkha Dutt
Barkha Dutt is an Indian television journalist and columnist . She is noted for her brave reportage in the dangerous conditions of the Kargil War. She has been honoured with several national and international awards, including India’s fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shree. She has become the model for the portrayal of modern female journalists in India.
