Who passed orders to set up Constitution bench, asks Kapil Sibal: Highlights

New Delhi:  Congress Kapil Sibal addressed media after withdrew its petition on the impeachment move against Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, rejected recently by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.The petitioners, two Congress lawmakers, questioned the decision to assign the case to a five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court.

We filed petition in SC (challenging VP Naidu's dismissal of impeachment motion against CJI) yesterday and was to be heard today. But we were informed last evening that our petition will be heard by 5 judges. Who gave these orders? What were the orders? Says Kapil Sibal,Congress

 

"We will now decide whether to challenge the order once we get to see it first..under the constitution, there is no order that cannot be challenged" Says Kapil Sibal
