New Delhi: On Wednesday, Climate Activist Greta Thunberg was named Time Magazine's person of the year 2019. The Swedish teen has become the leader of a global youth movement demanding policymakers to take greater action on climate change.

Time Magazine's Editor in Chief Edward Felsenthal said She was given the title  "for sounding the alarm about humanity's predatory relationship with the only home we have ... for showing us all what it might look like when a new generation leads, Greta Thunberg is TIME's 2019 Person of the Year"

since 1927, the Time Magazine has awarded the "Person of the Year" title, and features the individual(s) on its last cover of the year. The magazine cover has a picture of Ms Thunberg on on the shore in Lisbon, Portugal. The cover is subtitled "The Power of Youth".
