New Delhi: The recent floods situation in Assam has devastated the whole country. The people of Assam are suffering from the after effects of the natural calamity as there is scarcity of food, water, shelter and occupation. In this difficult situation, when the whole country is coping up with the losses our celebs from Bollywood came forward and expressed their concerns and helped the victims by their generous donations.

37yrs old actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas too her twitter account to expressed how devastated she was to watch Assam suffer, she wrote “Extremely devasted by all the news coming in from #Assam and other parts of India. It’s heartbreaking to read about the displacement and loss of life. My prayers with those affected.”

On Wednesday, the 51-year old National Award-winning actor Akshay Kumar took to twitter to announce that he plans to donate Rs 1 crore each to the Kaziranga Park rescue and Chief Minister's Relief Fund for Assam. He wrote, “Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam.All affected, humans or animals,deserve support in this hour of crisis.I’d like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue.Appealing to all to contribute @CMOfficeAssam @kaziranga”

 

Assam-based athlete Das shared a glimpse of her flood-stricken neighbourhood, and wrote “Flood situation in our state Assam is very critical, 30 out of 33 districts are currently affected. So i would like to request big corporates and individuals to kindly come forward and help our state in this difficult situation.”


'English Vinglish' actor Adil Hussain and Jyoti Kapur Das, director short film 'Chutney', also requested their fans to donate.

 

For people who are willing to join the cause, mobile payment wallet Patym has opened contributions for #AssamFloodRelief on the app.

 

According to the reports, approximately, 15 people have been killed in floods and landslides and over 46 lakh have been affected in Assam, 24 deaths have also been reported from north.
