In the last two weeks, about 15 womens have complained that their braids were “Mysteriously” chopped off, in Rajasthan and Haryana. And latestly this incedent took place in gurugram as well.

To police, a woman approached for claiming on Saturday that she was attacked by a “strange looking” man, fell unconscious and woke up to discover that her long hair had been cut off. In last two weeks, several such instances have been reported from various villages in the Mewat region and in parts of Rajasthan, though police say some cases are likely rumours, as per the News Agency PTI.

A resident of Ashok Vihar phase- III, Sunita Devi, said that by a man she was attacked, the man was in his 60s, on Friday night when she was alone in her house.

“In the kitchen while I was preparing dinner, I saw a thin man on the main enterance of my house in a red and yellow outfit. When I went to enquire about the man, I saw him carrying a trident. I told him to go away. He then went and disappeared. He mysteriously reappeared, when I closed the gate,” quoted by PTI.

She then fell uncouncoius, claimed by Ms Devi.
"When I regained consciousness, I found myself lying on the floor and my braid was chopped off," she says. Her house was not ransacked she points out that, ruling out an attempted robbery. Ms Devi reports no other injuries.

"We have enhanced night patrolling in the area," Gurugram Police PRO Ravinder Kumar assures PTI.

"We are examining CCTV footage...to get clues as no one, including the victims, has concrete evidence," Mr Kumar says.

"In all cases, the victims fall unconscious...and all of them are claiming phantasm," he adds.

"Some anti-social gang or group is trying to create panic in the region, there is nothing like ghosts. Police and administration have beefed up vigil and security and have urged residents and villagers not to spread rumours," he says.
